What is the most suitable way to visit a vast, varied territory rich in natural, cultural and recreational attractions? The bicycle, of course. In addition to being a means suitable for all ages, the bicycle is also the ideal means to fully immerse yourself in the surrounding landscape, and enjoy all it has to offer: colours, panoramas, noises and even scents, which change according to the seasonal cycles. On the saddle of the bike, you also practice a little healthy movement, which facilitates circulation, tones the muscles and facilitates falling asleep at night.

Some campsites offer their customers the possibility of renting bicycles on site, even for the whole family: this is our case! Here at Europa Camping Village, a 5-star campsite immersed in the nature of the Cavallino Treporti park, we offer this service to our customers.

After all, taking a car would mean “breaking the spell” of camping life, typically in contact with nature. The bicycles available are suitable for all ages, from mountain bikes, ideal for mixed routes and characterized by slopes, to city bikes, with or without a child seat.

Cycling tourism in Cavallino Treporti for the whole family

Cavallino Treporti, included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites together with the Venice Lagoon, presents a varied panorama full of glimpses to photograph. Water – undoubtedly the main element of the territory – draws and delimits the park between the sea, the lagoon and fresh water courses.

So vast and so rich in natural microhabitats, the Cavallino Treporti park offers numerous cycle paths, one different from the other both in terms of landscapes and in terms of athletic preparation. Through the dense network of paths that cross the park, it is even possible to cross the regional borders.

Discover the cycle paths that can be practiced on two wheels with the whole family!

La Via delle 3 Acque

The particularity of this cycle path in Cavallino Treporti is suggested by the name itself. In fact, the track touches three different aquatic worlds: the Adriatic Sea, the northern lagoon and the Sile river. The route – which can also be practiced with Nordic walking poles – is of medium difficulty and on mixed terrain, and for this reason it requires a bit of training. The total length is 13.8 km.

La Via degli Orti della Laguna

The Via degli Orti della Laguna is the longest ever cycle path in Cavallino Treporti: in fact, it lasts 25.5 km, and has comfortable paved terrain. The track is considered of medium difficulty and is recommended for those who want to admire the true face of the lagoon, the ancient, peasant and traditional one. Along this route it is possible to admire the village of Prà di Saccagnana and the former convent of the Mesole.

La Via delle Fortificazioni

This is a path of medium difficulty, perfect for history lovers. The road of the fortifications winds along various fortresses, built between 1845 and 1920 – military buildings used during the years of the Great War and in some cases transformed into museums, such as the Amalfi Battery and the Treporti Fort. The route has a total length of 15.5 km.

La Via del Tramonto

A 12.9 km route of medium difficulty which allows you to admire some characteristic views of the Venice lagoon. Indeed, the sunset route starts from Punta Sabbioni in an anticlockwise direction, passes in front of the island of Sant’Erasmo and the Mose, the famous “Experimental Electromechanical Module” which protects Venice against high tides. The terrain of the route is mixed.

Cycle path suspended over the water: the Pordelio

The Pordelio is a cycle path that clearly stands out from the others. 7 km long, the panoramic route is in fact suspended over the water and allows cyclists to literally immerse themselves in the lagoon habitat. With these characteristics, Pordelio is a one-of-a-kind cycle path.
